We spend a lot of time and energy on taking care of our hair during the day. But we often neglect our hair at night. A good nighttime routine is just as important as your daytime routine. Take a look at the list below of bedtime hair fails. Are you guilty of any of these?

  1. Cotton Pillowcases
    Cotton bedding is super comfortable! But it's not good for your hair. Cotton can dry your hair out, leading to breakage. It also causes friction which can lead to frizz (yikes!). A better, albeit costlier, option are silk pillowcases.

     

  2. Wet Hair
    Wet hair rubbing on pillows can lead to rough ends. And this can lead to split ends. Try your best to go to bed with dry hair. If you absolutely must go to bed with wet hair, tightly braid it to reduce friction.

     

  3. Ponytails and Buns
    Your hair needs rest just like you. Tension from ponytails and buns while sleeping can lead to hair breakage and loss. Sleep with your hair down or in a fabric scrunchie.

     

  4. Skipping Brushing and Combing
    At the end of a long day, it's understandable to be tired. But skipping nighttime brushing and combing is a bad idea. A good brushing and combing will release any knots that may have formed during the day, setting the stage for a great hair day tomorrow!
